Bronwen Anwyl

Anwyl creates sculptures made up of found objects. Furniture that has been deconstructed, newspaper, tape, cardboard, papier pulp and fabric build loud unnamed objects through the motions of balance, wrapping, squishing, pulling and screwing. Her process of constructing is naïve and playful and there is limited planning and foresight into the outcome. There is an interest in understanding the relationship between the object, the environment and the audience and the binary distinctions between environment and artwork become blurred. By taking them out of the studio and into the outside environmen, a relationship is formed between the elements of the environment and the created objects.

Anwyl is currently based in Helston, Cornwall. Since graduating in 2017 from Falmouth University, she has completed a residency at CAST and exhibited with Circle Triangle Square and the Newlyn Gallery.
